The creative Industry is a professional body established with the aim to provide employment opportunities through the proper utilization of intellectual property (skills, talents, etc.). Creative industries usually cover the domains of advertising, architecture, books, gaming, movie, music, newspapers and magazines, performing arts, radio, TV, visual arts, etc. In 2019, Creative industries comprised about 300,000 companies in the UK, or over one in eight (11.8%) businesses.
The economy of any country is directly reliant on creative industries. Based on a research report released by UNESCO, creative industries are a source of 29.5 Million jobs globally.
The Creative industries not only strengthen the economy of a country but has multiple pros as well. The greatest one is the introduction of innovative ideas, skills, technology, etc. The promotion of innovation is the prime aim of Creative Industries. Another importance of such platforms is elaborate working in the research and development sector. By bringing up an in-depth analysis and working regarding any field and everyday life aspects, creative industries can also contribute to the economy in a positive way. The third most important aspect is the element of creativity. Such Creative industries bring creative ideas into society with the purpose of implementation. Based on research conducted by PEC UK, compared to 45% of the entire economy in 2019, 72% of the creative workforce is highly qualified, meaning they hold a degree or higher-level qualification (Level 4 or higher) or equivalent. Such elements clearly reflect how creative industries are the backbone of an economy. Thus, not letting talent go to waste but instead utilizing it for the greater good is the true purpose of creative industries.
